OEM COATINGS

The OEM Coatings is spearheaded by Durachem Sdn. Bhd. (“Durachem”) under the brand name “Durachem”. Currently, there are more than 10 subsidiary companies under Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEM”) Coatings. Durachem and its subsidiary companies are collectively referred to as “Durachem Group”.

Durachem is a leader in the business of manufacturing and trading of customised industrial paints and inks, especially for the consumer electrical sectors in Malaysia.

Durachem provides cosmetic and protective finishes or coatings for a diverse range of manufactured products including, inter alia, electronics and electrical products, furniture, fixture, toys, sporting goods and office computing.

The end products using Durachem’s industrial coatings are exported worldwide. Hence, Durachem’s products have to comply with various international standards in respect of usage of environmentally friendly materials. Most of its subsidiaries in the OEM Coatings division are members of the Sony Green Partnership Programme, which signifies that Octagon's products are environmentally friendly.

Since incorporation, Octagon’s main business has been in the sectors of manufacturing and trading of industrial paints and inks. More than 70% of Octagon’s products are for the electronic and electrical industry especially for the consumer electrical and electronic sector such as television, VCR player, CD player, DVD player, camera and etc.
